hi everybody this is Miss cards from literacy Leo today's activity is going to be a game called The Name Game you're going to need some Post-it notes and a piece of construction paper in order to play the game what you're going to do is on each Post-It note you're going to record a letter in order to spell out each person's name in your family who lives with you notes on a piece of construction paper and three different ways the first way and my paper is rather large I want you to be able to see Jennifer one letter for. And first sword is going to be by Blanc so in our family she has the longest first name so she's on the top of my piece of construction paper next would be my son's name is Daniel and my name Denise Daniel and I actually have the same number of letters in her name so it's the tie that I love him in come in second and the last name on my Sharp is my cat's name that he has only three letters once again you're going to sort of person that has the most letters in their name going down consecutively to the person in your family with the least amount of letters in their names the next sort alphabetical and you can definitely just take off these like Post-it notes and you can change them around on your paper I just made a second toaster Jeep so you can see when you sort alphabetically you have to look at them letter person's name begins with so Ben begins with a V so he would take the first spot so we'd finished shift around our names are and Denise both begin with the D so in order to break a tie if you have two family members with the same beginning letter in their name you have to go to the second letter and a comes before Denise so dance name would common sense mine would be third and in this particular sort by alphabetical organization my daughter comes in last because Jay would be the last letter in the alphabet with in our family the last way to sort would be based on vowel so again you're going to remove your name look at the names you might have to rearrange some and you so he would have one file my son also would only have one if we just pray his name is Dan my name however though would have $3 I have an e Gemini and then I have another e at the end of my name so my my name is three Bells so if I'm starting from the least amount of sodium dancer literacy activity and a piece of construction paper so he have fun and I will see you next week
